This is a mistake for the players/sport, tour expansion and the ability to get newcomers into match play.
MR needs to have a major event in the middle of the US close to an international airport.
E. Coast costs are waaaaaaaaaaay too high.
No one from the W. Coast can or will Ever drive this far.
I know it's allot easier for the Europeans & MR employees to travel to the E. Coast....
The majority of US players and Especially our youngsters, reside in the other 90% of the country.
I couldn't imagine the PGA having only major golf events on one side of the US.

Barry I hope you get it.
MR I hope you get it.
But....
I don't think you do.

the good thing with the florida open, and orlando, is that the international open moved there too. so two open events with a combined total of around 400k (i think?), plus the straight pool, bigfoot and mosconi cup.

I assume you are referring to the new Florida Open that MR announced. Florida is a logical destination. The Mosconi Cup had the best atmosphere ever. Frazer said Las Vegas is actually a difficult ticket sell.

MR hinted that a Texas Open could come next year. We’ll see.

There is a ranked event in Seattle at the end of the month. Won’t be as big as the Florida Open, though.

Shaping up to be the best WNT calendar so far. seven big majors:

Euro Open
UK Open
Spanish Open
World Pool Championship
Florida Open
US Open
Hanoi Open

Plus Premier League of Pool , World Pool Masters and hopefully the World Cup of Pool.

Lots of smaller events, too. Seattle Open, new Taom Open, Peri Open.

i’d guess MR is aiming for 9-10 big majors eventually. Three in Europe, three in the U.S. and three in Asia.

Future options could include a Texas Open in the U.S., and another event or two in Asia. A Philippines Open after Hanoi and before the Reyes would be one possible . I am sure MR would love a big Chinese event, but it doesn’t seem likely.

don't forget the international open, that's a big one point-wise

i like the chinese players but if it's such a hot potato then let it be. ACBS wouldn't take kindly to unsanctioned events in heyball homeland. the obvious next location for an open is the philippines.

KS area is a bulls eye for American pool... Always has been.

Chicago/St Louis/Nashville Memphis/Fort Worth/Denver/IA/AK/Louisiana/Nebraska/Indiana/New Mexico/Kentucky.
Most of these areas are a ''one day'' drive for players & viewers.
Hotel costs, and diversity of restaurants are plentiful.
And the price of food, is waaaaaaay better.
MR....
Might as well make the event in a convention center in Miami.

It's a hell of a looooooooong ways from Orlando to New York City.
At least Orlando has an international airport.
JAX airport then a 40 mile shuttle to the International/Fleming event wa$ not as functional as Orlando will be.
