Women 9 Ball Champion at the age of 16

The first time I have heard of Chezka was when she along with another 14 or 15 year old boy defeated the tandem of Orcullo and SVB during a Pacman tournament. I wish we can see a video of that match.

Impressive shot making by Chezka:

First time I heard of Chezka was when gopi-1 posted a video of her running rack of rotation at 13 years old. (EDIT: I think it was the same thread that you first heard about her.)

Just from that one video, I'm not surprised one bit that she's an international champion at such a young age.

I'd love to see her match up with the men.

This was also said by people in the know about Simeng Chen when she came along 4-5 years ago or so at 16 (approximately) She was and is playing great but doesnt dominate the women and hasn't won a men's event either. Not sure how many she has played though.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea she is not dominating the women.

Many of us are more familiar with western women, so I will show collective results against familiar names from the last three years:

against Kelly Fisher, Siming wins 30 to 23
against Allison Fisher, Siming wins 16 to 9
against Jasmin Ouschan, Siming wins 16 to 9
against Karen Corr, Siming wins 9 to 3

Her Fargo Rating is 770 (level of top dozen US males players) for a reason.

Yes, she hasn't won a men's event. But then again Shane hasn't won a women's event.

I think you were winning until your last statement.

Let's be absolutely honest for a moment. There might be a handful of women that could snap off an open event against the men in a short race format.

But if Shane (or any other top 5 male) were to play and be the only man in a women's event, they would win a heavy majority of the time.

Yes I agree with you. I was being a little flip in pointing out siming hasn't played men's events so, so how she's fared in them is a non-statistic

Yeah, it was around that time. And about 1 year after that, it was the tandem of Orcullo/Biado that she defeated along with a 15 year old boy (doubles match, and not the SVB/Orcullo team I mentioned earlier).

Have you seen this video (also from batang tirador) wherein Chezka was interviewed along with her father before running 10 racks of 9ball? Her father owns a billiard place and she started playing when she was only 5 years old. He had 7 daughters and wanted a son but did not have any so he just concentrated on Chezka hahaha

Fast forward to 22 min 15 sec to watch Chezka execute a fantastic shot:

I would like to see how she would match up with men too. How do you think Chezka would fare in the local US tours? IMHO, she would make a lot (not all) of US pros a run for their money.

Here's a video of 15 year old Cetano playing doubles with her 15 yr partner against Thorsten Hohmann and John Morra. This may be the same tournament that f210 mentioned earlier where she and her partner defeated Orcollu/Biado. Not sure who won the Hohmann/Morra match but the two kids certainy do not look very intimidated:

IMO, from watching some of her Amway matches, she does play like a man in that she plays with a kind of fearlessness, confidence and rapidity that you see in a lot of male pro players but not so much in female pro players. Don't know how to quite describe it but the female players seem to play a very measured, aim-- practice stroke--pause--and then pull-the-trigger kind of game. They are all very amazing but seem to play an almost text book type game.

Centeno seems more like a natural, as if she was self-taught, much like Balukas and Reyes. She makes difficult shots look kinda easy, even effortless, game after game. Can't seem to say the same about the other female pro peers competing in the same tournament. If anything, think Ceteno may very well continue where Balukas left off. Even if the 16 yr old doesn't make it in the male pro circuit, because she doesn't try or tries but doesn't quite get there, she will probably do a lot to close the gap between male and female players. I think she is very special and can't wait to see more of her.

She now has a Fargo Rating of 764

We have matches for in for the
2014 WPBA 9-Ball championship,
the 2015 SEA games,
the China Open in 2015,
World Women's 9-ball in Guilin China 2015, and
the Amway event.
Here is a video I found of Chezka apparently beating Jeff De Luna 12 to 9 in 10-ball.

De Luna's rating is currently 787. So Chezka's rating of 764 is about right, probably understating her current ability if anything.

She got lucky quite a few times though:smile: Don't get me wrong, she plays great but the luck was on her side in that match.
