Aluminum joint pin on both ,except steel pin used on jb to handle ....

So the Purple heart handle will jump full length no matter which shaft?
The other handle on either shaft does not jump full length of the table? is this correct?
Neil

Yes correct ,also neithr are cored ,my mentor sugjested doing a g10 ferrule and phenollic tip ,it didnt work....

Hey Neil. I think he means full length as a cue. Not a distance of how far the jump shot can travel. OP?

There is either some property in the butt wood in the jump/break cue that keeps it from jumping well. Or the extra stiffness from the jump joint is causing it not to jump as well.

Mvp u are correct ,sorry if i didnt explain ,both have 1 inch aluminium pin

Then something in your non purple heart handle is acting as a dampener.
It's in the construction somewhere.inside that handle.

What is the woods used in the Non-purpleheart cue? Some woods are better suited for jumpers than others are. Also, as a side note, I would round the nose of the joint pins otherwise you may start to gouge the entry threads, just a suggestion.

Other cue wood unknown but had it over a few years i will post close up

No jump ,i have another shaft i tried phenollic g10 tip combo and nothing

My guess of the wood in that cue is mahogany, which if it is, does not make a for a good break or jump cue unless cored with something like purpleheart or bocote. JMHO.

So just because both are almost same specs , dont mean it will perform the same ,ok i learned something .... another reason why i love cue stuff ,its a learning process..
