Hi guys,

what woukd the difference in hit be between cocobolo and ebony. And between irish linen and enony with the rest being maple, metal joint and thin arrows.

Never mind the shaft, ferrule and tip. I have that already and would only want to know the difference. '

Is the handle drilled and threaded, or is it straight through wood?

Big? Small? Some?

i can answer your first question, but that is the only one i understand.i wouldn't think you could tell a difference in "hit" between Coco and Ebony handles.both of which possibly and probably make a butt heavy cue though.

Handle Wood

Hi: I agree with mace: the difference in the HIT between coco and ebony, used as a handle wood, is so slight you could not tell the difference if there is any.

A reply to your question about the handle wood being drilled straight thru or thereaded; my handles are all drilled straight thru (.758") and the butt cap is threaded to 5/8-11. My web site shows several pics of the operation. I do not know of anyone who threads their cored handles.

Best regards,

Will it be butt heavy even if coring is done?

And thanx for the replies.

I also tried to search and found a lot of action. A lot of players and makers seemed to like a maple/hardwood, rosewood/hardwood combo. Not one said anything about buttheavy.
