Can someone identify the wood in the prongs of this spliced cue? It's a Palmer from the 1970's.

I'm for 90% sure it's Jatoba (a.k.a. Brazilian cherry). That kind of wood was used in most spliced cues in the 50's, 60's, 70's.

Maybe you could post another picture of the first cue without the glance of the flash of the camera. The cue should be places horizontally to get a sharp and clear picture.

But my guess as it looks now, Jatoba.
