I have an old house cue conversion I made out of the wood that is shown in the handle of this cue. Does anyone have any clue as to what kind of wood this is.

Lacewood and leopardwood are so close cousins that sometimes vendors called highly figured lacewood leopardwood. There is sometimes honest confusion amongst vendors.

What you are calling the snake belly look on the sides thing is the spine created by the "quartersawn" face. I agree with Joey, it is lacewood. If that is not correct, then it most assuredly is leopardwood, your second answer from Bill.
