I have decided to take on the task of learning more about various woods and their' characteristics. I had an idea, there could be "Wood of the Week" posts. Each week I will post a different wood and people may add comments pertaining to it. Comments on workability, heft, playability, stability, oily, waxy, finishability... Tell us, if you like the wood, or hate it. What other woods contrast well with it? Also people could post photos illustrating what they have made with that wood. Basically, my thought is, if one week is devoted to discusssing something it will be etched into memory.

The first two will be added and weighed against the third. So if you click 1 or 2, it will come out the same. If the early trend in voting continues, look for the first "Wood of the Week" tomorrow, and a new one every Saturday.
