I build one cue at a time

Hello,
If I am looking to buy wood for handles, nose, butt or even for a whole cue....
What are the minimum dimensions for the square before turning it?
I do not want to start buying wood and as I am turning it would be only good for pens or knifes

1.5" x 1.5" x 18" squares gives you a forearm and buttsleeve. This is the common size you'll find in wood suppliers.

If you'll core a forearm stock, 1.250" square by 12" or so would do.

I usually get 1.5" square, cut the excess for inlay use.

Handle stock usually availabe in 1.5" quare by 18"-20" lengths.
For a whole cue, a 1.5" square by 30"+ would be ideal.

How much do you need? I have tons of straight maple for handles and some decent BEM. All rounds 1.5" by 18" for handles, 16" for forearms.
