Wood Shedding: Practice Method of the Greats

Les Paul..

You are all forgetting to mention the man who made it possible for all the others mentioned in this post to have the guitars they all use. If you don't know about Les Paul, do a search on Google about him. He STILL plays every week at the Iridium night club in Manhatten, and he is in his nineties!!!!! All of the world renowned guitarist's that have been talked about go to play with Les when they are in New York so they can learn from the master. If you can, go to Iridium and listen to him play, on the sound system he designed for their club. You won't regret it!

Best guitarist ever...

I think that you guys that are talking about omitting certain guitarists from the "Greatest Ever List" are taking this the wrong way. No one has been omitted because we're not making a list, just giving examples of guitarists that spend their entire life dedicated to doing that one thing with a drive and determination that it takes to get them where they're at. Personally, I think anyone that reaches that level of proficiency deserves to be on a list.

But this has totally taken an NPR taste to it. So, the same as guitarists, pool players that can practice for hours and hours and hours on end are going to be more successful than us regular schmoes that put in a little practice time and then hit the tables. I'm sure by the age of 25 Efren had already spent a lifetime's amount of time around a pool table. You don't get that good without putting the time in, no matter how talented you are.
