The people at housing finally decided to replace the rails and the felt on the 9' Brunswick downstairs in my dorm. Before it had horrible cloth and rails that were rotted through. Seriously, the easiest way to lag on that table was to shoot at break speed at the far rail.

My only alternative was to play on the 7' no-name tables in the rec center, tables with more table roll and wobble spots than a water bed.

I probably would prefer a different color than the electric purple they chose and the table still has quite a bit of roll, but I'll take what I can get. Now I finally have a decent 9' table to play on :)

Heh, the worst ever table I saw was at the Lambda Chi house at University of the South in lovely Suwanee, TN.

You couldn't even call it a pool table any more. Cloth missing in several places, slate cracked here and there... whole POCKETS missing.

They only had two balls left - the cue and a three ball. But that was enough for the game they played on that table - "Slam Pool". Fun game that involved whacking the three ball with the cue ball, by hand, lots of running around, wacky hijinks would ensue. Sometimes splinters as well. :P

I've got access to an old Brunswick 9' for free - got to be a 50s model, I'd say - but that table, like yours, has gone downhill in the past couple of years. It's at the nearby American Legion post (dad's a vet).

Fortunately, they're going to be starting construction on a new building soon - and when they up and move across the way, that table is going to get some TLC, and maybe even a brother - the floorplan has room for a second table. :D
