Words first 3D Printed Pool Cue

Wood 3d printers is a new one on me didn't know that was possible till now.

Is the designs just limited right now. For example can you make the cue stick lower to look like and indian totem.

If you see some of the high res stuff that they do then you will see that doing a totem pole would be no problem. Think of whatever you want sliced into super thin slices and then built up layer by layer.

When I want to build something using my laser cutter this is essentially the way we do it. For example our endcaps on the GTF cases are laminated leather that was laser cut and then shaped. I have seen people build bowls and other objects using this method.

The major difference is that by laying down each layer they can control the internal and external structure without worrying about alignment. If you do it with a laser for example you have a thousand parts that you have to align and bind exactly. The 3d printer lays it down the right way each time once the design is set.

I wish someone would make an adapter like Universal had so I can fit my preferred shaft onto any of my cues.

I drew up a design for that years ago. Never made them though. What's it worth to you? :-)

Also I used the same concept for universal joint protectors.
