Work with the Indian Casinos?

Seems like the common thread for the successful pool ventures these days is the Indian Casinos.

The Women's tour is almost exclusively INDIAN casinos.

The Joss final event is one of the biggest INDIAN casino pool events if not the Biggest.

Florida offers an INDIAN casino TOUR with larger than NORMAL weekend added events for the players during the lulls between hurricanes.

I should think that the men would eventually get the idea that they too could be an attraction at a casino. All those people wagering on slots and table games with poker and sports... can see a "pool show" Yeah rigth:wink:

Do players and friends really dump all their winings and them some back into the casions? :sorry:

The people who run casinos, Indian and otherwise, are business people pure and simple. If they are properly presented with a plan for an event that will make them money, they will go for it. They want events that will draw a crowd and they want people who like to gamble. The reason it seems that the women have chosen to have all their pool events at Indian casinos is because Indian casinos is what's out threre.

I wouldn't say they dump their winnings at casinos, but you'll see a lot of local players at the two casinos in this area. Then again, you'll find a couple of Miccosukee players around here that can really play pool. The two go hand in hand.

Indian casinos

In my region there is an Indian casino that hosts some woman's events,BCA and APA(amateur)regional events.I don't know why they would not host a mens tour event. They are maxed out on space for BCA amateurs but would have plenty for the pros. This casino is in a vacation type area though,I don't know if they could get a good gate there. Not sure if the casinos in the metro type areas have the space for a pro pool event.

Sounds like a very good idea though.

I would really like to see more tournaments in casinos. There is only one or two a year around here and they're usually filled. It is at least a good setting for a pool tournament. I believe a casino would attract a few new people if they had a Pro event once in a while...I don't think they would lose any money.

I've always wondered if a casino would be a good location for a pool room. My wife likes the slots, and I would just as soon sleep in the car...but I would waist a lot of time in a pool room if it was in the casino. I think you'd see a lot more 'action' in a room at a casino too. Basically no regulars and a lot of new faces everyday. Just a thought.

Interesting. The majority of Saskatchewans top players are Cree, Dene, or Souix. Several of our better players are also senior managers at SIGA, an organization that oversees 8 or 10 casinos in our province. We haven't had a casino-based pool tournament for many years. The last one was a biggy thought, and drew Mike Massey, Alex P., Archer, and a few other top pros. I wish the boys would do another.
