World 14.1 DVD`s ???

are any DVD`s available from last year or this year ???

Sascha

Last year, Jorge from propoolvideo recorded the matches. Jorge and John DiToro were completing the commentary. I was in contact with Jorge to help complete the commentary - and the last I heard was that he had some issues with hard drive space on his computer to complete the rest of the matches. (I may be wrong about that - hopefully Jorge will see this post and reply). There are some matches posted at propoolvideo - although I can never get the site to come up on my screen anymore (anybody else have that problem?)

A lot of work and a lot of money has gone into the DVD's the past few years with very little return on the investment. In 2006, they spared no expense to have the event recorded professionally with disappointing sales.

I wish we could find a the answer to producing and marketing the dvd's successfully. I have explained to everybody how the 14.1 matches have worldwide appeal. Most of the 14.1 videos I have completed are viewed mostly by players in Europe, US, and Asia - with thousands of views.

Would those numbers translate into dvd sales? Probably not. We'll never find out if we continue to NOT record the matches.

there are only like 2 matches from last year on propoolvideo and jorge doesnt answer my emails at all. once he said he would upload more but for a long time nothing new apeared :-(

Like I said, that is because we weren't able to complete the commentary - along with the production. Prior to providing the commentary for the straight pool matches, Jorge adds in the scores - which is extremely tedious and time consuming.

In the future there are many projects being scheduled, including Pat Fleming's event next week. I am also working to complete a few more straight pool matches - such as Jose Parica's victory recently in California, so there will be a lot of 14.1 out there - we just need the support of fans such as yourself. Post production on these projects is very time consuming (sometime one match will take 40+ hours in post production) and most of us are doing all of this for the love of the game - not because we are getting paid.

FWIW, I know that Jorge still has a lot of matches recorded, and no matter when the project is completed - I will support it by purchasing the DVD's - and I will help Jorge out with completing it if necessary.

sounds really great for us 14.1 lovers :-) i am waitin for it, but i didnt know that jorge is selling also ???
