As you may or may not know - the World Championships are being held in Austria from Dec 8th - Dec 12th.

The players representing the USA will be:

Jeanette Lee
Monica Webb
myself
Melissa Little
Tiffany Nelson

I am very excited about this opportunity....not because I get to go to Austria - but because it makes me very proud to represent my country on the world stage. Like most children do - I wanted to grow up to be an Olympic athlete when I was a little girl. I didn't have any particular sport in mind...LOL...but I have always been enthralled with the idea of standing under the US flag and doing something for my country.

I will do my best to make you all proud...and hopefully the US team will come home with that World Championship trophy!

That is a strong contingent.

Have fun in Austria. I have heard that within a 30-mile radius you can visit the birthplaces of Mozart, Hitler, and Governor Terminator :D

I have....but not to Austria or Switzerland. When I was 22, I visited Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. It was one of the most fascinating and beautiful things I have ever done.

I am looking forward to seeing more of Europe. Hopefully, I will be able to squeeze a little sightseeing time in...but then again, hopefully I will be too busy playing matches to get out of the venue!!!

Good luck Melissa, is there an official player list somewhere? I will have to check the EPBF website they might have it.

Thanks guys...y'all are the greatest! I know it will be great fun, but most of all I am really looking forward to being a part of the whole thing. I know it will be awe inspiring for me...and that's about the only way I can describe it!

I am off to Miami in the morning...so I don't know how much I will be posting over the next several days. Hopefully the hotel has a business center where I can check my e-mail, get some work done, and log-on to the forums to see what's up.
