Greetings.

Does anyone know definitively what table (manufacturer/ model) they used at the 2015 Chinese 8 Ball Masters?

Watching matches from this event, I have noticed that many of the very best pros are missing much more than I have ever seen them miss on any other table and I am curious about the table/pocket specs. Any links to information about these tables would be appreciated.

Thank you kindly.

Joy tables (made in China), 6 legs, 4½ x 9, fairly tight pockets (I don't know the numbers) with rounded pocket jaws like a snooker table.

Edit -- this is for the 2015 event, played in January.

It's weird, but the Chinese like to play eight ball on snooker tables. My guess is they think it's the equalizer, and if you've ever watched pro's play eight ball, you can understand why. I once saw Dennis Orcollo take 10 minutes to determine stripes or solids, and two minutes running the table.

So are they playing with snooker sized balls? If they use pool balls the rail height will be off by a bit, but the pockets will effectivly smaller.

No, the cushion-nose height was appropriate for the 2¼" pool balls used.
