World Cup of Pool ?

Well golly

I live in Alaska, Canada is next door. I am aware that Canada and the USA are two separate countries. I just want the playing field leveled by allowing Team USA to pick from any where in North America. Heaven forbid we should adjust the rules to level the playing field.

As far as the British Isles and Great Britain and Northern Ireland goes, I get it. I just think there is a bunch of cherry picking going on and it seems like the USA is a stand alone country, I am ok with that. It is why we are who we are.

I thought Shaw was trying to obtain his US citizenship. Think he has 1 or 2 US born kids now.

I'm sure Sky would not like the idea of not having him on the team. These Matchroom events is a free roll .

It should be obvious to everyone that most Americans could not care less about soccer. That's why NONE of our top athletes play it. The world should be quiet and thankful that is the case. Roll your eyes all you want.

The MLS has the third highest live attendance of all sports leagues in the USA. Plenty of US players have played for top teams in Europe and are as good and successful an athlete as any athlete in any of the big four North American leagues. The national team has been ranked as high as 4th in the world. It may not be a “major” sport with US players easily recognisable by casual sports fans at home but it’s certainly a popular sport in the USA. As a “minor” popular sport yes it’s probably true that many could not care less about it but maybe check your facts first. Soccer has a far bigger following than pool in the USA.

Yes I will still roll my eyes, because “the world should be quiet and thankful that is the case” is laughable and in the same vein as suggesting Shaw should play for the USA because he lives there.

It wouldn't make ANY difference. How many world-class 9b players live in Canada and Mexico?? I'll tell ya: not very many. I have NO clue about Mexico but in Can. you got Morra of course and MAYBE 5-6 others with even a shot of making a MC team. Why do keep saying "cherry picking"?? The euro team is chosen by a points system: http://www.matchroompool.com/wp-content/uploads/Team-Europe-Rankings-2019-11.pdf They have one event left which is going on now. The US team is cherry picked by the captain. BTW, ALL 23 on that list are good enough to make the euro squad. There aren't 23 players in the US that play that speed.

The Euro captain picks 2 and the others come off the points list. Because there are so few big-table events here(that is changing tho) the captain picks the whole team. Hopefully with all the tournaments here now maybe we can have a points based selection again.

They need to simplify things a bit. If you don't LIVE in the country, you don't PLAY FOR that country since you wanted to LEAVE that country.

Same thing for all the men/women/others picking if they play in a women's event or not. If you had some floppy thing between your legs when you were born, you can't play on a women's only team/league.

Simple things are simple. People playing in the Euro/whatever teams, then flying back HOME to New York or CT is just funny shit.
