What the heck is up with this?

Started out at $1000 and now it jumped to $1500. Anyone have any info as to why?

There's a bunch of people around here in Detroit going to Vegas for the 1st tournament and they're getting worried about it happening. I said no matter what, he might take a loss on it and see what happens after, as far as money coming in to fund the 2nd tournament. I'm trying to arrange to go myself.

I know KT said he was committing himself to putting up the money for a couple of years but I've heard that before from other promoters. I have friends that have been putting up a $1000 to try and qualify and they'll put up $1500 to take a shot also.

Here's the big question.

IS THE PRIZE MONEY IN ESCROW???

The World 8-Ball Championship, to occur in Reno on September 2-10, 2006, has a purse totaling $5 million. First prize is a half-a-million ($500,000). This may be why the entry fee for the qualifiers for this event is $1,500.

It is interesting to note that first prize is $500,000 and second prize is $150,000!

Also, I think I remember hearing an IPT staff member state that the Masters 8-Ball Championship, November 26-December 3, 2006, in Chicago will also have top money earners of this year invited to compete, meaning this event is not exclusive to only current IPT members.

Hope to see you there! :)

I don't know if the prize monies are in escrow. However, I do know that the check my counterpart received at last year's King of the Hill cleared and was very much appreciated! :D
