Starts 9am EST. I'm watching on worldsnooker.com which costs $6/month, but I'm sure you can find it on some free sites as well.

It's Ding Junhui vs Mark Selby. Ding is the first Asian player to ever reach the finals. Yesterday, he broke the record for most century breaks in a match at the crucible with 7!

If Ding wins, I don't expect Selby to get past 13 games. Final score 18-12

If Selby wins, it should go the distance or close to it. Final score 18-16

Rock and Roll

Have been enjoying the coverage - first time I watched snooker for number of years
This is easily the best cue sports production - top notch commentary/punditry by legends like Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, John Parrott, Ken Doherty etc, excellent camera work, stats, atmostphere, audience

On paper, little to separate Ding and Selby - about same age, number of ranking events, head to head, number of centuries. Selby is one up cos he has a World Championship title

Based on performance in semis, Ding has edge and is bookmaker favorite even though Selby peaked at right time in the final session yesterday with some of best safety defence and shotmaking
If his team ,5000-1 outsider Leicester City wins EPL at Old Trafford today , that may also boost Selby
Will not be surprised if we see some records broken by Ding (like high score or maximum 147 or most centuries in WC -he has 12 while Stephen Hendry's record is 16)

Game on

Ding is still a little tight. Looked like he was ready to get settled in the second frame, then he gave it up.

Wow, Ding let Selby grab 2nd frame which he should have won. Should have been even but he is now 2 frames behind
Selby is the master grinder and arguably the best safety defensive player

Ding has to heed Neil Robertson's warning

Mark will grind Ding into the absolute dirt throughout this match. Early lead important for Ding. Selby 18-14

I love Ding and it would be amazing for our sport if he won especially as another overseas player

Good luck to both finalists today!Ding must score from his 1st chances in frames, if they go more than 20 min Selby will dictate

:D

Shocking unbelievable- Selby now 6-0 over Ding
No one would have believe the score considering their performances in semis

Mark Selby (Eng) 6-0 Ding Junhui (Chn)

125-8 (91), 70-68 (Junhui 52), 101-43 (76), 120-0 (120), 100-0 (70), 77-38

:D

Selby 6 - 0 Ding.

Ding seems to have zero confidence at the moment. Worrying times for his fans, needs the break fast to recompose himself.

:D

Yeah, this is unreal. Each mistake Ding makes he looks more and more depressed.

Ah, Ding has just missed an absolute sitter. :(

It's looking for all the world like 8 - 0 at the interval. Selby will just get better.

Outside of Efren, Selby has to be one of the best kickers I've personally ever watched.

Ding nicks a frame but his nerves are absolutely shot, almost on the verge of tears. :(

I'm hoping he can somehow come back and make a fight of the match.

Selby 6 - 2 Ding.

Really pleased for Ding to win those last two frames, hopefully steady him for this evening. :)

Ding was lucky to nick 7th frame after Selby missed the blue to make it 6-1 instead of 7-0. The session could have ended 7-1 Selby instead of 6-2 , Selby 6 frames instead of 4 frames ahead ...big difference.

According to Stephen Hendry, Selby had very poor 2nd sessions in past few matches so we could see Selby on the down and Ding on the up
:D

Mark Selby (Eng) 6-2 Ding Junhui (Chn)

125-8 (91), 70-68 (Junhui 52), 101-43 (76), 120-0 (120), 100-0 (70), 77-38, 47-68, 14-107

2nd session starts about 1 hr from now 7pm BST (2pm NY)

Win or lose, Ding has the heart of a champion. 2 incredible clearances by him this session. Turning out to be a great match.
