World Snooker Professional Championship 2013

One thing that is peculiar about the tournament:
The split between the young guns and the Over-The-Hill-Gang

Used to be that the prime years were late 20s - early 30s.
Seems to me that the winner will either be 26 or under or 38 or older. :D:D:D

While the quarters have yet to be confirmed, the possible players include:

White - 1991 - 22
Trump - 1989 - 24
Ding - 1987 - 26
Murphy - 1982 - 31
Walden - 1982 - 31
Hawkins - 1979 - 34
Carter - 1979 - 34
Milkins - 1976 - 37
Bingham - 1976 - 37
O'Sullivan - 1975 - 38
King - 1974 - 39
Davis - 1972 - 41

This is probably the strangest worlds I have seen since I started watching in 1979.
So many players out of form and qualifiers getting through on mediocre performances.
Pick a winner?? maybe from these 3
Ronnie
Ding
Trump

I know I thought Carter could best Ronnie but he has been disappointing so far :embarrassed2:

I think Carter's been a little unlucky and I wouldn't write him off just yet. It has been a strange tournament, with virtually all the top players playing rubbish - I wonder if tiredness after a long season is taking its toll? There have been many long, tedious frames, with some truly dreadful shots.

Although a Ding win would be great for the sport, I'm hoping for a win from one of the lower ranked players, such as Walden, Bingham, Hawkins or White. Got a funny feeling Davis might find some inner confidence from somewhere, and put a run together.

What a shot from Ronnie to go 10-7 up, long banks the last red and kicks the brown over the hole then dishes up

How does a human being make a 6x12 look like a bar table?
Ronnie aint human.

I want some DNA samples

Skybet odds :

Ali Carter 16/1 V Ronnie O'Sullivan 1/100

Skybet are having a laugh with Ali Carters odd here.If you fancy Ali Carter to win 5 frames in a row it's 16/1.

I wonder how much action they get to these groggy lines.
To win 5 coin flips in a row is 31 to 1....Ali is in fact an underdog every game.
...and they offer you 16 to 1?
Giving them action is like getting mugged by a guy with a sock-full of gravel.

Rikki Walden 12 V 11 Robert Milkins

Skybet odds :

Walden 2/7 Milkins 5/2

Milkins to win 2 frames in a row is 5/2
