World Snooker Proffesional Championships 2012

Look a few posts up.

Thanks. Having seen it, I believe it is not easy to tell at all. Only someone nearby looking at it from the side could be sure if the cue remained in contact with the white when it struck the red.

In any event, if Allen had a problem with it, he should have taken his concern to the tournament organizers instead of whining about it in public after he lost. It just looks bad.

I think it was a good hit...the cue-ball behaved logically.

Here is a much more difficult call under much more pressure.
Cliff Thorburn would be my first choice to shoot this...he had
amazing cue control in close quarters...( at 6:30 )
...note the quiet in the audience after this hit...

..and check out the shot at ( 9:00 )...this subtle stun shot
was called best shot of the tournament.

Regardless, I'm with The Thaiger: Ebo is alright in my books, 'milkman's hat' for a tip or no (courtesy of John Parrott).

Stephen Lee 4 V 5 Andrew Higginson

That tip's amazing - it looks like a new, oversized tip, that's just been stuck on and not trimmed - it's not mushroomed. I've seen one or two others with similar tips in this championships too.

What's Ebbo's walk on song anyway?

It looked like Jones got a lot of lucky rolls in the last few frames. Luckily Murphy is too much of a gentleman to mention it like Allen would have done. Higginson is playing really well now, the best ive seen of him ever. Lee just played poorly, his long pots just didnt go in and when you play as aggresive as Lee does, it just wont do.

Dear the Thaiger,
Peter Ebdons walk on song was like a funeral dirge. You don't want to go there but maybe other readers can clue you up on the song.My best advice is not to even bother about it and then we can all meet again tomorrow for a bit of craic.

Selby 3 V 4 Hawkins

So much for a tigh match Lee V Higginsonnow for the marathon Selby V Hawkins.Must be a record 30 minutes on the last red so far.

Specialo Internationalio Message To The Thaiger

It's alright mate ,you can wake up now.The last red battle lasted for half an hour.

Ah oui, mon jocko amigo.

Had to laugh when the red was finally potted, with Terry Griffiths saying "I was just beginning to enjoy that safety battle". Quite like Griffiths as a commentator, surprisingly.

Elsewhere, the shocks continue, with Dott getting hammered, Selby 6-3 down and Ding 6-4 down.

Robertson at a canter.

It looks like it may go to a 9-9 decider in Ding vs. Day. I think the momentum is with Day at the moment. Ding seemed to take his foot right off the gas after frame 14. However, he's very good. I don't think he can be counted out by any stretch. I hope I don't have to leave for work before it's over.
