I'm planning to go with our team but not as a player.... will be armed with a camera tho :grin:

this is like the mosconi cup but bigger with teams from all over the world...

A lot of top players are not playing under WPA, so not that top caliber tournament. But expect to include top Europeans.

The sad thing is that this is in a date conflict with the Derby. So I suppose the european countries will be represented in the team tournament, while the americans - and filipinos(?) will go to the Derby.

Are you sure?
The BCA is under the umbrella of the WPA...
The US Open is a WPA tour stop
Any world pool championship (except for the last 14.1) is a WPA event.

It's one after the other and if a player can leave the Derby a day earlier he can make it...

Teams are composed of 4 - 6 players, you got players fighting to get into the mosconi cup team but not for this one?

My guess is that most Asian countries will have good teams as players are bound by their local federation to do so if they want to keep on playing in international events...
So will Europe.

I doubt that many European fans will make it to the Derby but for such a big event in Europe I was expecting to see more enthusiasm here from the European members...
