would there be any point to go cue shopping at the bca show in baltimore?

heres the deal, due to my work and my schedule i can never make it to the valley forge show, and i cant make it to vegas just for a show either. The upcoming bca event in baltimore is close to me, i can be there in 5 hours or so and its the right time of year. Of course i would love to see some of the top pros play in the tourney, but the main reason i would attend is the chance to check out and test hit some of the premier cues. Are there going to be vendors and cuemakers there with enough stuff to make it worth my while? I dont get to see many top end cues where im at, so really my only chance to sit down and try out and compare some cues is some type of show/tourney. Im on the waiting list for a hercek but im looking at the prices and i just dont think its worth it to me. I want a super nice custom cue for under 2k, I dont care about collectablility, its going to be all about play. Is the bca show something i should try and make it to or not?

There are many vendors at the US open in Chesapeake every year. Why not try to attend that? It has to be closer than Charm City.

From what I have read, the BCA show in Baltimore is mostly an industry event and only a portion of it will be open to the public for one day. I believe they are having some sort of tournament. It is not clear if you will be able to get into the section with the vendors.

I live within 20 minutes of the Baltimore Convention Center and I'm not sure if I will be going. I wouldn't recommend driving 5 hours.

As suggested, go to the U.S. Open in Chesapeake, Va. in September. The vendor area is small compared to Valley Forge, but there is plenty to look at and buy. You can also get a session ticket and watch the best players in the world.

Look me up, if you go to the Open. :D

Scotty. Closed to the public.
When it was in Orlando a long long time ago, it was closed to the public, like the PGA is. Only industry personel are allowed. If you were a retailer or a room owner or a vendor, you can go.

Maybe you could make the Super Billiards Expo 2 show August 3-6 at Valley Forge. It won't be as big as the original but hopefully some custom cuemakers will be there. Check out this link as it will update the vendors as they sign on for a booth. http://www.superbilliards2.com/

The BCA Trade show was in Huston this year, and will be in Las Vegas NEXT YEAR. My friend went and he said he will not go back any more as there were too many Spa's and Bar-B-Ques on display. It is getting too non Pool.....:)
