Would you have a problem with the way I rack?

Playing league mostly in bars on tables in less than stellar condition, in order to get a consistently tight rack I use the following technique. I first place the 1 ball on the spot (or as close to center on the spot that any divot will allow). I then set the rack in place so that the 1 ball is locked in this position. I then build the rest of the rack behind the 1 ball while holding the rack in place to keep it from moving.

This is the only way I have found that I can consistently get a tight rack for my opponent, yet I get questioned about it quite a bit. People will inspect the rack, see that its tight and still complain. I would like to get other's opinions on my technique and how/why they choose to rack the way they do.

I'll have to remember this next time I'm playing league where the tables are rough. Pretty sweet idea if you ask me and I certainly wouldn't complain.

Put rack down first

I put the rack down slightly higher than the spot, let the apex ball settle where it wants to. Then I bring the rack back to the ball, add the rest and snug them up. If the table has been tapped in too many places, the balls won't stay tight. I then rub my hand briskly over the rack area to warm and stretch the cloth to flatten it out a little. Repeat as needed.

Tight Rack Good

I don't see the problem except you are playing players that don't care and I wouldn't want them racking for me. I hate letting anyone rack for me in One Pocket cause too many people don't get all the balls froze and then I break and get a bad one when I know break well and sort of throws a pall over the game. I would much rather see someone take extra time with the rack. This way I at least know they are trying.
