I will say that if I owned the bar I would open up the ball returns so people wouldn't have to pay to play, but I am not the bar owner.

If I were a hall owner I would host a weekly 9 ball tourney which in my opinion would be ideal.

$25 entry fee w/ $0 green fees
Race to 7 w/Double Elimination
$5 p/player p/week goes into end of year championship
To qualify for the championship you must place in the top three once or top 5 three times over the course of the year.

I would figure in extra profits every week during the tourney from beer, drink and food sales and that would be the added in tourney.

I think you would have a very large weekly turnout.

The way he worded this, it sounded like there was no guarantee of any money at all, as in, the TD might take off with it.

If the TD is reputable, I would maybe pay $100 entry with no added money. Depends on the races, how deep the payout is, how far away, etc. and figure that I have a chance to get in the money.

They would have to state up front what the payouts are to some degree. For instance, based on 32 players, 1st is $1000, or at the very least, that they are paying 1/4 or 1/3 of the field.

This is the reason why I said NO as well. Not because of entry fee or added money.

Ray, Scott and Mark, you have to understand, CoCo is NOT really a pool player, persay.
He is someone who lays awake nights thinking what stupid, inane thread he can start on AZB.
At the $25,000 added Desert Shoot-out, when most of the top players in the world were in town, CoCo could be seen peering thru the window. ( He wouldn't spring for the $20 cover chg.) He did badger them for autographs and pictures when they came outside for a break though.)
Please do not judge everyone in Arizona by CoCo's controversial,well thought out posts here on AZ. Most of us are normal.

Yes Joey, I have long been a proponent (and user) of the "Jack Daniel's Aiming System." There was no barrel involved though. I used to simply sight through the bottom of my fifth as I was drinking. It was at least as effective as the other aiming system's out there. I might add more fun too! :wink:
