I just saw something somewhere on the internet that the rio is now the arm pit casino in Vegas? Showed video of stray cats running thru the casino, 5 dollar a night room? I’m almost afraid to go watch the event stepping into that place.

have never watched or gone to a pro event in person, is it worth-wild to go and watch and hang out for a afternoon? Is it free to watch matches?

why would they pick the rio? Thanks for any info.

The Rio is hosting the CSI national league events during that time. CSI has been using the Rio for years and years, ever since the Riviera closed. For several years now, the W10B has been there. In addition, there has been a big 3-cushion event several years recently, but not this year.

The Rio is not the worst place in Vegas, but it is not as nice as it used to be. The management feels that they need to squeeze as much money out of the players as possible. The snack bar by the tournament sells small, unripe bananas for $4. It recently sold, and maybe it will get better or maybe the squeeze will tighten.

Don't eat there and don't stay there. Bring your own snacks. Seriously, walk over to the Gold Coast to eat if you don't have a car. In my experience, you can find much better room deals on sites like booking.com and the difference will pay for Ubers or even a car rental.

As a Vegas local I love the Rio! You can drive right up to the back and park right outside of the convention center without even walking through the casino!

With that said the casino is a dump in need of a renovation.
