Wrap Opinions

I like a wrapless cue with a roll-on silicone-rubber sleeve. Lots of 3c players go this route. Get them ebay for less than 10bux. What i like about them is they let you grip cue pretty loose but still have good traction. Also easy to move from cue-to-cue.

You cannot beat a cork wrap.. It's by far my favorite and I've played with everything.. Jack Madden and Paul Drexler both do a very nice job.

Guido Orlandi made a Cue for me & it had a Cork Wrap on it, I too am a Corker, from now on....

I love Cortland Linen........it's my favorite wrap and several of my cues use it.

Thereafter, it;s elephant leather but not just elephant ear. You need to go with
the deluxe version and Martin Bick (Superior Cues) was my supplier.

The next alternative is Kangaroo leather that's the softest feel Of any I've tried.
If I could have gotten it in a nice gray color, I might have used it on my last cue.

Here's my last two cues completed this past Memorial Day (Cortland #9 & Deluxe Elephant).
I went with Elephant instead of Cortland because of one of my cue's colors and its design.

If you are going to replace the wrap with leather or exotic skin, the wrap channel will not be deep enough to accept the new wrap when you remove the Irish linen. Rather than having someone start to remove wood from your cue, I would try to find someone that can belt sand the leather (rough side) down to the thickness of Irish Linen. I don't think many do this but I have seen it done and it is the way to go.

BilliardBills had a thread recently offering wrap work and had some beautiful wraps to choose from.

Earl Strickland's tennis racket wrap

I recently picked up a new Schon LTD 1403. I got it with the linen since this is what I have always used and have no experience with anything else. After finally getting to play with it, I am finding the linen to be very slippery. I am considering getting it re-wrapped with something like stacked leather but have no experience with leather or other wraps.

You guys willing to offer some opinions on the best material and colors for me to match this cue?
