hey guys!

thinking of getting a new cue. i was wondering if you guys who are very well informed about cuemaking could answer some of my questions regarding a cue design of an all purpleheart wrapless cue. i was wondering if i have a cue made out of purple heart on the forearm, handle and buttsleeve with simple white material inlays at the forearm and some parts of teh cues and with a this matched witha white material for buttcap and an ivory piloted 5/16x14 joint do you think this will work good interms of balance and hit. especially feedback? i am playing with a dufferin 17 oz one peice house cue right now it feels really great for me especially the feedback since its lite and a pressed brunswick leather tip. i was wondering if my wrapless purpleheart design could be weighted without using bolts at the target wt. of 17 oz.? i was thinking of the balance and and how heavy the shaft will be to achieve these specs. pls. reply immediately i need a cue by november for a very important tournament outside the philippines. i want to use this cue. thanks!--diablo

Having a custom Q made takes time & Qmakers usually have a waiting list. To get a Q in that short of a time limit, probably is not going to happen. My wait list is 6-8 monthsn & some have a wait of years to get a Q made...JER

Very possible, but your timeframe is pretty short.... The purpleheart will probably need to be cored to achieve the weight you want. I could probably pull it off for you, the price would be around $700 with one shaft.

Diablo,

I think if you are looking for a good hitting cue I prefer a radial pin and you can reach your target weight just by the connecting pin that holds your forearm to your handle. as far as the ivory in my opinion it would make for a softer hitting cue than it sounds like you are in search of. What type of inlays are you after in the cue exactly? I may have some ideas to build you a nice hitting cue at a reasonable price.Purple heart when constructed properly does hit very well. just let me know if you are interested.
