WTB 3/8x10 Tap

 Dam.... them things are expensive. I was fortunate enough to have a very nice forum member send me one last week, otherwise, I would have to buy one from Atlas. Good luck.

lmao:grin:, Try having a tap and die made as a special run. Y'all will think that 40 or 50 is nothing after that.

LOL, I already have. Didn't check on the die but had several quotes on the tap. I can get them down to about $28 each IF I get 10 made, otherwise, they are about $75-$80 each.

I wish, up here, they make you go thru a dealer which is okay except the mark up is rediculous, 150 for the tap and 95 for the die if you order both together.

WHO would make you go through a dealer ??? That doesn't make sense. I contacted Travers (among several others in my home town) and like I mentioned, I didn't inquire about a die, just a tap. However, Travers wanted about $90 to make one single tap and if I bought 10 or more, they were very close to about $30 each. I'm sure Travers could get a quote on having a die made also. I have an industrial supply store in my hometown that could get the taps made for $76 each, so there are many different companies that can have the tap and/or die made.

I didn't question politic's. I got what I wanted so I was happy. I haven't had any taps made in years but back in the day, Large companies like Widell and North American, preferred you to go thru one of their Dealers and they were loyal to them about it, TODAY???? With the Economy, who knows for sure. I remember some Cue companies that preferred you to go thru a Dealer, then they changed and dealt direct, It didn't work out to good for them, when their dealers quit ordering.
