Wtb "ed Young Cue"

Deacon,

I can understand why you want one of Ed's cues. They play phenomenal. What I don't understand is : have you called Ed himself? and if you want one that bad, why'd you sell the prototype?

I sold the prototype because it was so stiff, it made a southwest seem whippy. (which is sick) to me. It has a very large forearm and the shaft is much thicker at the joint. I like the (original) kersenbrock taper which to me is much more playable. I like switching up games, this cue was more for banks and one pocket but you have to have a godlike stroke to get the job done, which I at this point do not have. Ive had other Youngs and know ed and admire his work but currently he has a 2 year wait know him or not. I have a lead on one that I will see on Monday locally but would like to buy a few to find the right one for me. I have one on order and will probably order another or two but want one to play with in the meantime. i had one of his only sneaky pete cues and wish i wouldnt have parted with it but i bought this shortly after he began making cues, i had no idea at the time that his popularity and interest would be so much larger. live and learn. thanks, Mason

Are you interested in this one? I would be willing to sell it for 1650.00. 2 shafts, ivory ferrules and joints. Sorry, I'm bad at taking cuepics. I should have mentioned that it's an Ed Young cue.
Dead straight, hits good, leather wrap, previously purchased from Cueaddicts. I believe that the darker woods are cocobola and that the shafts are both 12.75 +/- 1/10 a mm. The cue is standard 58" and is just a hair over 19 oz.

I sent you two PM and never received a PM or call, I also left you my cell phone number. I was interested in the cue and have been posting for weeks. I would have appreciated at least a chance in buying the cue. Mason, thanks for your decency in writing accdealer that if I didnt want it to consider you. You are a gentleman, The other guy, Im not sure. Mason

Deacon-

Sorry that you feel that way. Your PM's were never received due to a full inbox. I cleared it out and waited for you to PM me again and even posted in this thread that my box was full, but now i had emptied it and could receive PMs once again. When I never received any PM from you, I assumed that you were not interested, so I proceded with MasonH as he promptly PM'd me and contacted me via telephone. I'm very sorry Deacon, but I did not receive and PM's.

Wow, You almost waited a whole day before selling it to mason... I can understand your patience must have been wearing thin... those must have been the most grueling 19 hours of your life, good thing a portion of that was over night (but how could you have slept waiting in anticipation).

Anyone that is not responsive to this site 24 hours a day doesn't really deserve a nice cue!!!

So basically you sold the cue to a guy who hijacked this guys thread and didnt give him even 1 day to make a counter offer...

i don't think i hijacked the thread.this is a public forum and i saw a guy selling a cue and tried to buy it(if the other guy didn't want it).I don't know the reason why accdealer is selling the cue and it is not my business, but lets assume for a second the guy just went flat busted(acc this is totally hypothetical,i am not implying you are broke i am just creating a scenario)and needs cash fast.he posts a reply to a thread in a public forum and gets no response in 24 hrs from the guy who started the thread.meanwhile another guy offers to but it if guy #1 doesn't buy it.i think addicted2cuesru would do the same thing.you probably need to watch your mouth a little bit,b/c you don't always know the whole story.deacon,no harm intended.i was just wanting second crack at it.accdealer's PM box was out of commisson for a few hours that day.when i spoke to him he was surprised that he had not heard from you and honestly thought you must not be interested.

Well it wasn't his fault that he didnt get a response as his mail box was full, you got lucky and happened to be logged on right after he cleared his mailbox... more power to ya I guess. You got what you wanted thats all that matters. I don't really blame you, but the seller should have given Deacon a better opportunity to make a counter offer. If you don't think so we will have to agree to disagree... Anyone else with an opinion on this matter?

STILL LOOKING FOR ED YOUNG CUE, PLEASE PM ME, EMAIL ME conslr101@cs.com. Im a working man so there may be 8-9 hours or so that Im not living on the forum or even a few hours when Im playing but I will get back to you as soon as possible. I will give my cell phone as I did to the guy whose mailbox was full. I never received a call. I am looking to buy, not kick tires with the right cue and price of course. help me out and I will help you out. have cash, will travel. Thanks

I dont blame Mason, the transaction wasnt meant to be for me. I had missed buying this same cue from cue addicts by finding it a little too late. It was sold for 1050.00 a few months ago and I believe it was in 90 percent condition according to cue addicts description. Another member who is a friend of Ed Youngs just emailed me last night and Im probably buying his after we work out the details. I have dealt with him before and we are both straight up. Im going to buy to play and he is going to sell to buy another of the same type and make of cue. this one is in the bluebook pictured which would be nice to have and knowing this guy its in 95-98 percent original condition. It would be worth the wait. thing is, Ive been happy buying and selling on this forum with no complaints either way, its an excellent environment. I appreciatethe support since the fact is Ive been posting nearly every day for months but hey, theres bigger things going on in the world like war, the bush folleys and high gas prices, this is a wonderful get away (pool) that we all share and Im happy with that. I will find the cues I want and will enjoy them. Have a great day. Chuck, we should get together and play some. Do you ever get to pockets or red shoes in Alsip? Love to see your Kersenbrock. Thanks, Mason

Yea, I go to pockets upstairs more often. We can definately meet up sometime. I am a Limo driver so my hours are all over the place, but we could meet up. Heck we probably bumped shoulders once or twice.
