I can't find any secondary market joint protectors, it appears he makes his own pins that are 3/8 x 11? very shallow threads. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've used secondary market joint protectors (3/8x11) on Ed Young cue before. I've emailed Ed about getting his own joint protectors and he said he's too busy to make them and told me get standard SW fitting joint protectors.

Phil,
I have some aftermarket solid black 3/8x11 JP's if you want to try them out. Email me with your address and I will send you a set...you need a 3 piece set, or 2 piece?

I might have some

But they might be radial They are not 3/8-10 so they just might be 3/8-11!

You can call Rick Howard or Pete Ohman and get some. Both of them use the same pin. I have an Ed Young- and they work just fine.

Camcues has a thread on this forum now offering very nice JP's w/all threads including the 3/8 X 11. Have bot several sets from him and they are well made.:)
