WTB Joint Protectors

Cue ball draw with this?
Silver Member
I have a couple of really old Schmelke cues I bought in 1975. I think the joint protectors are 9/16 x 16 FF? Does anyone have them for sale or know where I could find some? I would need 2 3 piece sets. Thanks in advance.

I Have The Man For You

Get in touch with pipe1976....do a search under the wanted to buy section....his actual name is Lonnie Wilber...absolutely the very best person to work with. I buy all my custom joint protectors from him and he's making me a set (almost finished) of joint protectors (ivory laden) I personally designed for the Scruggs cue I bought three months ago.

Lonnie is a pleasure to work with and you won't be disappointed. Tell him Matt from California told you to get hold of him....ask him how complicated and painstakingly difficult my Scruggs Protectors turned out to be...he's redone on his own volition because he wasn't satisfied they were close enough to the original design....Lonnie is really that much of a artist when it comes to woodworking. And he does all of this while also being disabled which makes it even more remarkable

I trust Lonnie 110% in his workmanship and overall reliability.

Hey Matt, I have already contacted Lonnie and he doesn't make JP's that size. I see the Schmelke site has 9/16 x 21 black ones but for some reason I think mine are 9/16 x 16. I'll have to find out exactly what I need. Thanks for the referral though. I did order 2 other sets from Lonnie for some other cues I have. He is very responsive. Thanks again.

You're More Than Welcome......

I'm glad to hear you were able to do some business with him. His prices are really very reasonable.......nope, better than reasonable. And he's willing to take on custom work too. The joint protectors he's making me are a design that was mostly mine but Lonnie had some great ideas about how to improve the look. He's incorporated the color of the veneers in my 2006 Tim Scruggs cue and there's also a lot of ivory in the caps that all have TS initials in the top ....I'm telling ya these friggin protectors are like a work of art and Lonnie has put forth a tremendous effort in getting them just right.

Pipe1976 does really excellent work, his prices are more than reasonable and besides that, he's also a great guy to work with.......seems like a winning combination no matter how you look at it.

Still looking for JP's

I'm still looking for JP's for these 2 cues. These are old pics. I had them refinished about a year ago. I bought these around 1975. I am looking for 2 3 piece sets of JP's. I am not sure of the size. I measured them at 9/16 x 16, Schmelke has some that are 9.16 x 24? Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I can't seem to find an email address for Schmelke cues non their website. Can anyone help out with an email adress for them.
