Hey Bandit, if I were you I would stay away from the Star series McDermott cues, and I would look at the Lucky Series by McDermott.

I am a McDermott Dealer located in Lakewood, WA and I have been selling their products for around five years. In my opinion, the Lucky Series cues are better quality than the Star series cues.

Just my opinion!!!

Hello Craig,

Happy Holidays to you my friend, hope all is well. The cue you rebuilt for me last year still looks perfect. I've only taken it out of the house to play
3 times, but shoot with it at home often.
Best wishes,
Jerry in Texas

I agree with manwon, having shot with the star and lucky cues only on occasion there is a marked difference (I shoot full time with two mcdermotts).

If you choose to go that route however, there are many sellers on ebay. Haven't seen any AzB users dealing stars here but of course, buy from your fellow users when you can! =)

The ebayers (some of whom are AzBers) are holding no minimum bid, no reserve auctions for the star cues. I've been tracking them over the past week just to ascertain market value. They're consistenly going for under $50 including shipping, most with j/ps and from authorized dealers. There also seems to be multiple auctions for them ending every few hours.

If you don't mind waiting around for the right opportunity and your guys don't care about the looks of their cues, plain jane entry level mcdermotts are also going for around the same circumstances and prices. I believe there is an AzB user "donthat", who has the same ebay account name, who has been selling them off like crazy.

Any route you go, good luck with your purchase! =D

I have a st7c. The one with the wolf and paw prints. List of $179. I've played a few games with it and it has great balance. I'll sell it for $60 shipped. These are not as good as a McDermott. The joint often comes loose while playing. I also have a couple of new McDermott's listed on ebay, no reserve that will end up selling in this price range. These are a far better choice.
