WTB - Plain Tad player's cue

Looking for plain Tad player, preferably maple and 19oz overall or less. Ideally with 2 original Tad shafts, Cortland linen wrap and in good playing condition. Preference given to local cues (So. California, SD, OC or LA counties) that can be inspected prior to purchase.

I've seen two listed locally over the past 6 months. One in Ontario and one in Brea... The Ontario one was newer with the TAD logo, but I don't have any contact info for that one. His asking price was way too high, IMHO. The Brea one was pre-1983 TAD logo with one original shaft and two new shafts.

The Brea cue was listed on E-bay as a 1978 TAD-1M. I corresponded with the owner a bit via PM on E-bay. His username is arealdeal2 if you want to get in touch with him and see if the cue is still available for you to see in person since you're local. I remember that he tried to post the cue again, but it didn't sell.
 
Thanks for the information. I'll see if I can chase up the Ebay user you mentioned, but they have 0 feedback which is very reassuring!

Anyone else have a plain Tad they are looking to sell?

True, but I did converse with him enough that he seemed like a really nice guy. If he still has the cue and you are interested, I don't think there is anything to worry about since it would be in person. He seemed like he was the original owner from what I was told. I wish I could re-read the messages, but E-bay cleared them out of my Inbox already. I could have driven to see him if I were interested in a TAD1M, but I'm not since I already have one. The seller was only like 20 minutes away from me in Brea, somewhere around Cal State Fullerton. He probably shoots at Danny K's, I bet. Best of luck though! TAD's are great cues! We are quite fortunate that Tad & Fred Kohara are local...

Oh, btw... A couple months ago around May, there was a guy selling a pre-1975 TAD PJ, silver rings in the joint collars and silver ring above the butt cap. No fancy veneer ring. Same PJ BEM cue shown in TAD's old catalog, I believe listed as a #8.

zatoichi77, beautiful Hoppe TAD! Always liked the blue veneers!

tasaddicts has a raffling going on right now for a TAD tribute cue made by Greg Kucharski, a beautiful cue. Reminds me of a TAD#5 from the old catalog.
