I've got two shafts right now, and they're both hitting the end of the line. My Universal Smartshaft has the adapter coming out and a 1-inch fracture at the joint collar. My playing shaft was turned down too thin for my liking, loose ferrule and a weird buzz coming from the joint collar. Not that any of this has a damn thing to do with my post, just venting a bit.
So I'm looking for replacements for both of my shaft woes.
Right off the bat, I'm looking for 3/8x10 shafts. New or very good used condition is preferred. Both of them should be no smaller than 12.75mm. I don't have too many reservations with what tips are on the cues, just nothing on the extreme hard/soft side. Not sure about the diameter at the joint, but I do know that the Universal's adapter was only SLIGHTLY bigger than the joint at the butt, so I'm not too concerned.
The Olivier shaft should come with a silver ring collar. Actually, come to think of it, I'll do with any good shaft, any maker, with a silver ring on the collar. No preference with ferrule material.
The Universal Smartshaft can be any model but the TX8. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if I had the LS or RS model, I was never able to tell the difference.
