wtb: southwest predator 314 or 'Z'

I don't have one .. but an alternative choice maybe Universal Smart Shaft as they come with 3/8x11 adaptor.

My sW shafts have very low deflection ... I personally don't see a need for Pred or Universal shaft for my SW.

i play with predators on all my players.... consistency i guess... kinda got into them through all the poolhall dudes where i play... my SW shafts are all different. New SW has shafts at 3.6, my old SW has a shaft at 4.0 and actually is single handedly the best shaft i've ever played and i had Drexler put a yellow micarta on it with a moori med... just awesome..

now for the dumb question-smart shaft? and what's an adaptor for a shaft-you mean you can use it with any joint? that's gotta effect playability...
thanks

well, I guess usage of poor wood and an empty space near the ferrule are definitely gonna affect playability

Universal Smart Shaft - designed by Bill Stroud (JossWest)

Ideal is you can screw in different adapters so you can use the same shaft on cues with different threads. Reality is not as simple since it's pretty hard to unscrew the adapters.

i would contact scot at proficient billiards. the shaft would have to be made from a blank since there is no such thing as a 3/8-11 pred shaft. i cannot think of a better repairman/cue maker to do the job.

Call Rick Howard and ask him to do it. He uses the same pin and does them. A buddy of mine even got a stinger shaft from atlas and rick formatted it for a mace. I have a players cue and a mace from him. He does great work and it would be good to send him some business- all that hurricane stuff had an effect on his business.
