before svb contract,

cuetec did offer wu chia ching a contract, in march, which he turned down.

that was the time when taiwan used cuetec to keep him.

in the end, he still become permanent resident of singapore.

Wu rejected the Chinese-Taipei Billiard Association’s condition for putting him back on the Taiwan team.

The association had said it would find Wu a sponsor in exchange for his promising not to play for a foreign country for three years.

Wu is currently in Singapore, working as a training partner at Singapore’s pool team, and obtaining Singaporean citizenship.

Wu Chia-ching’s father, Wu Chen-chung, said, want to pass this opportunity (of having a sponsor) to other athletes.

don’t want to be seen as grabbing money. want guarantee (for Wu Chia-ching’s livelihood.

Wu, 20, began to play pool at the age of 10.

He decided to quit Taiwan after his salary demands were not met by Taiwan sports officials

Wu demanded Taiwan match Singapore offer - 4.6 million Taiwan dollars (130,000 US dollars) per year,

including a coach and travel expenses, and promised to hire him as a coach on the national team after he has stopped competing.

Taiwan’s billiard association said it could offer him only 300,000 Taiwan dollars (8,500 US dollars) a year and would find him a sponsor.

Cuetec, the company which makes the Cuetec cues, has agreed to sponsor Wu Chia-ching.

Cuetec agreed to give Wu Chia-ching 900,000 Taiwan dollars (25,000 US dolalrs) per year in sponsorship,

if Wu uses Cuetec cues, Cuetec cue bags and clothing with Cuetec logo

taiwan think it is a very good deal because Cuetec has sponsored Earl Strickland and Alison Fisher,

But it seems that he and his father think this is not enough

they still hope Wu Chia-ching can change his mind and play for Taiwan.

After all, he was trained in Taiwan and Taiwan people want to see him win glory for the country

cuetec did it good, sign up svb,

wu cc is just in singapore training the team, he cant compete for singapore yet

you wont be watching him play for quite a while

wu used to be someone i look up to,

after the whole saga, i can only say that money makes the world go round.

Wu demanded Taiwan match Singapore offer - 4.6 million Taiwan dollars (130,000 US dollars) per year,

including a coach and travel expenses, and promised to hire him as a coach on the national team after he has stopped competing.

it is actually quite alot to ask for, being a pool player,

would svb do this to his sponsar?

even if wu is only 20, can play till till the age when efren retires, but thats abit unfair to others,

taiwan still has ko pin yi, wu yu lun, ko po cheng, chang jung lin,
and the number 1 yang ching shun

This isn't the first player to turn down a cuetech sponsorship. I know an elite German player who didn't accept their offer after they dropped Earl.

SVB is for the USA market (primarily); therefore the job is his. Wu CC would have been for the Asian market.

Each market has a different profile/needs in representation. This is also why you have a male and female rep - diff markets.

SVB was a fine choice and I told Mr. Jones Chang (Cuetec) this personally.
