Interesting that 4 Thais didn't turn up and their opponents were given a walkover into the next round. Must be something to do with the political situation I expect. Either that or they all live in the same flat and someone forgot to set the alarm.

For our American friends, there really is a place called Thailand. Martial law has been imposed there after months of protests and unrest.

Only joking.

Thai professionals forced to withdraw from qualifiers

Yep it is due to the political situation. Update for the Star Academy where they are based:
It is with regret that we announce that Star Snooker Academy resident Thai professionals; Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, Dechawat Poomjaeng, Noppon Saengkham and Ratchayothin Yotharuck will be withdrawn from the Wuxi Classic Qualifiers due to unforeseen circumstances with their visas, in regards to the military coup in Bangkok.

[Update]

Unfortunately due to the continued troubles throughout the Bangkok area our 4 residents are forced to withdraw from the upcoming Australian Open Qualifiers. They should all return to action in the first PTC of the season in Riga, Latvia.
