Hello everyone,

I placed an order for a cue with Andy Gilbert about 4 months ago through the website named in the title of this post (http://www.gilbertcues.com). I've had some problems getting e-mails returned from the contact person on the Website (Jeff Hoeksema). I am wondering if anyone here has experience ordering cues from Andy through this website. I'm certainly not trying to smear the name of Andy Gilbert or Jeff; I just want to know if anyone has had similar problems.

Dustin - Ordered my Gilbert cue thru Jeff roughly 1 1/2 years ago. Jeff was easily available thru the 5 month build time. Was a very smooth process in my case. Is Jeff still in Michigan and Andy in Missouri?

My old email address for Jeff Hoeksma is: jeff@gilbertcues.com[/B]
PM me if you like.

i got a jump break through jeff last fall and am having a cue built currently by emailing jeff. i have also noticed that there is some trouble with communication through email, but i always attributed it to me using aol (i have come accross the problem of lost emails before with aol).

I ordered one the same way. I talked with Jeff a number of times. They have it setup so that Andy can focus on the cue work and Jeff can communicate with us folks. Don't worry anything -> Andy is still moving ahead with your cue, even if you have delayed communications.

FYI: my cue (check my sig) took about 8 months, but it was worth it. Andy created a great cue to complement my playing cue.

Personally, I don't think you should jump the chain of command and start calling Andy directly, this will just take his attention away from your cue (and everyone elses for that matter). I'm sure Jeff will get back to you. He always got back to me - although sometimes it wasn't the next day. Let the master work ;) lol

Thanks for the info guys, I'll keep your experiences in mind. It's certainly been more than a few days for the E-mails I've sent, but from what it sounds like I don't have too much to worry about. I don't mind if the progress is slow, as long as it's sure...which is sounds like it should be.

Td, that jump/break is sweet (and the Richard Black isn't too shabby either :D )

i know jeff and andy lives right down the road from me i talk to him daily and im sure your cue will be well worth the wait.

I hope it is nothing, but I have had trouble getting a response to the status of my cue as well. I have confidence that all is well, but it would be nice to get an update when you ask for one.

Yea, I delt with Jeff for a bit talking about different options and pricing. When I finally decided on what I wanted (2 plain players type cues) he completely disappeared and never answered/called back <shrugs>

Ended up with a Richard Harris.... no complaints here :)

I sent an E-mail today to Jeff with a design, and he got back to me in about 4 hours. I'll be ordering it as soon as I get the OK about the particulars.

Hey Everyone, Just FYI. I heard back from Jeff today (strange coincidence). Apparently, Andy is apparently very busy after getting a bunch of cues ready for the Super Billiards Expo and he's now locked himself away in the shop trying to keep up. I didn't really get an update on the status of my cue other than that I would hear back as soon as Jeff could talk with Andy. Anyway, it seems as if things are moving forward.
