X BREAKER BREAK JUMP CUE TIP....Layered Red Tip???????

I bought a used x breaker from a friend at the pool hall.
The tip was almost gone...
All I could see was a little tip , and what i thought was a red pad"
When I started cutting off the tip, it was all RED"
Is there a red layered tip for breaking???
DEFINITELY NOT A Super Pro"
I have had those, the tip I am referrinf to was almost PINK,
And seemed pretty soft"

a buddy of mine has an x breaker and the tip it came with was a g10 with a tip pad. i believe the pad was black though. perhaps the red part you saw was the tip pad?

I have 3 X Breakers. One that's older, built after they quit imprinting the name on the jump joint collars, and 2 that were built by Samsara for X-Breaker.
Some of the later shafts, the G10 tip was installed with a "stinger" that protruded down thru the ferrule into an open area above the tenon - I know because I had one re-fit w/ a leather tip, and the cue tech had to remove the ferrule & lengthen the tenon to accept a new ferrule, thus eliminating the void. Could have installed a shorter ferrule on what tenon was there, but I didn't want to. I didn't mind losing 1/4" to 5/16" in length on a break shaft.
Possibly the G10 tip was replaced & a pad was installed to bridge the gap in the ferrule? Would be obvious if the tip/pad were turned down flush against the end of the ferrule.

From my understanding there was the x-breaker/jump cue and simply the x-jumper..made by x-breaker. The x-breaker/jump cue came in 3 versions and the latter came in only one version.

The x-jumper used a bowling ball for their tip. Which may help explain the color you saw.

It would be easier if you confirmed which cue you have.
