Sorry if this has been asked before.

Does anyone knows if the black xbreaker are made from black wood such as ebony or African black wood etc?

I have one which looks like it is snowing all over. I think i need to do a refinishing on it but i don't want to sand it off half way and find the color coming off.

Best regards
Chris

The ones I've seen were dyed maple. :)

The reason ...

why I won't have a cue that is black. Had a black Huebler with red veneers, and every little bump to it caused it to 'skin' up real easy, and show it. Don't know if it is because it is dyed or the finish on it, but it was kind of a pain.
Looked good again when I had it refinished right before I sold it.

So if i try to sand the finishing off the color will also fade and below is maple?

Yes, then it will have to be dyed/stained if you want it black.
