Anybody here know of or about Matthew Bargerstock & DFE Billiards? He makes carbon fiber shafts under the XLR8 brand. I've purchased several of his shafts & they shot good for the most part. The only issues were some minor fixes needed here & there. Back in June I shipped 2 shafts back to him for repairs (we agreed upon). That was the last time we communicated. I've called, emailed, sent FB messages & zero response. I was a bit concerned that maybe something not good happened to the guy. His site is still up and phone still rings, so idunno. He normally would get back to me right away but all of a sudden just crickets.
Any clues? Anyone knows the guy? Is he alive & still in business or what?

I follow this guy on youtube. He put out a vid several weeks ago stating he was pretty far behind with shafts due to going back to work full time this summer. I noticed a couple of comments in that video from people saying they were waiting for over 3 months with no contact. No replies from him on the latest video. So at this point I am not sure. Hopefully your credit card company has some protection since he has your shafts. May be worth a call to them. Good luck man.

I contacted him on Friday about some work I needed done on a shaft of his, and he contacted me right back that day.

Still waiting on him to reship what I ordered in July that he made incorrectly. As of the last email, I seem to be being ghosted. I see a lot of posts creeping up with similar reports.

I find that if businesses are avoiding you due to some issues on their part, best thing to try, is to use someone else's phone to call. Amazing how they are able to pick up when a different phone # rings.
After reading a lot of these posts over the years, it really appears that a lot of small cue builders, while they make some fantastic cues, are just terrible at time management, and good business practices in general. This is not just cue builders, try having a custom 1911 built by some of the top pistol smiths. The wait is as long or longer, and there is no wood to season. Most don't take any new orders for years, as soon as they start taking orders again, they just over promise all over again.
