Hello,
Yes, I'm creating a score tracking mobile app but hopefully it won't be your regular score tracking app. I'm trying to make it the de facto score tracking app for most pool players out there. Ambitious? Yeah... but where's the challenge and fun if not?
Anyway... I'm looking for people who would like to help me alpha test it and thought that this forum could be the perfect place to find them.
Right now, a fundamental part of the app is usable: 8 Ball and 9 Ball scoring for APA with a few additional features. More games, leagues, and more features, are in progress.
It has already been tested by a few friends and myself but it's not enough. I want it to be used and tested in the wild.
So, what are the requirements for these alpha testers?
- Own an android smartphone 4.0+
- They must have a gmail account
- They must be playing in an APA league.
- They must be willing to use an app in alpha stage (bugs and missing functionality are expected)
And what is expected from them?
- They will receive an email from Google Play asking them to confirm that they are voluntarily opting in the alpha testing process of this app.
- They must download and install the app.
- They must use the app to track the score of at least one game per night
- They must report back to me a) bugs b) Suggestions, and/or c) comments.
- I'd appreciate confidentiality
What are they going to receive in return?
Sorry, I can't offer too much. Except...
This app will have a free version and a paid version. All the testers that clearly helped make the app a better one by timely reporting bugs, making suggestions, etc... will have a full license of the app once it gets published. In the meantime, they'll be able to use it (so hopefully, we both win that way)
** I reserve my right to remove alpha testers at anytime. I'm open to make the reason public (aka, in this thread) if the tester involved asked me to (I just want to have the option to remove people who download the app and never contribute to make it better)
Sorry if all these doesn't sound nice. I just want to set the right expectations for both, testers and me. Between that and my lack of a proper English language (obviously it's not my primary language), well... I knew it wouldn't be easy.
Anyway... Interested, please, send me a pm.
Here are some pictures.
