You just won the Lottery!

Would hire a crew and do a documentary or two I have had in my head for years. I want to do a high quality doc about Shane. His story is pretty amazing. Also one on the Derby has been kicking around my brain.

Or what is completely more likely to happen is I would just buy guns, land, cars and spend the rest on women with questionable decision making skills.

I have a couple close friends that I have told "You better hope I never win the lottery because you will be lucky to survive the first year of parties." It would make a rap video look like kindergarten.

I hear this!

First things first. I would secure a lot of real estate. I'd then set up some friends and relatives. Then myself, I would set out across the world on what I would call project transform ya https://youtu.be/vFC1sUf4-Pc where lucky girls everywhere would be glad they caught my attention, all the while making stops along the way to gyms and poolhalls everywhere.

I like the combination of these two..

establish the pool network on TV

establish twelve - 16 man pro-level tournaments - one each month
could air on tv each weekend - all 4 weeks per month
(the Nov- December tournies are the final championships)

launch 9 nationwide amateur co-ed qualifiers to qualify for pro level.
(3 west coast, - north, central, south ) feb - mar - apr
3 Midwest, north, central, south) may - jun - july
3 east coast, north, central, south) aug - sept - oct

the top 6 finishers on the pro level stay pro level.
bottom 10 pros play round robin pro-am event against top 15 amateur qualifiers.
(early January)
(5 from west coast, 5 Midwest, 5 east coast)
winning 10 fill empty pro level spots, losers go back to amateur qualifiers

no handicaps
real pool on tv all year round

I have always liked the idea of a Free Standing Building somewhere near a Urban area near an airport but sort of out of the town. I would build these out of modular construction and they would be set up to televise and stream events and it would be setup with seating in the arrangement so that whenever there were matches people would be notified by email addresses that matches were going on and they could come, pay a small admission, be able to see what was going on. buy food and snacks and have a place that was friendly to Pool Players, Instruction etc. It would be a place that sponsors would know that their sponsorship would be noticed.

Mr. Bond,
I like your idea a lot, combine that with Regional Tournament Centers say a couple in the South, North, Midwest and West Coast that might make things real interesting.

I would start a new tournament in Baltimore called the Tim Scruggs Memorial, have it televised and put together some match up's between some of the veterans and newer players.

I like your idea the best of all!!!

On the constructive side, I think US pool would benefit from a "center" facility similar to what other sports have. It would host professional tournaments, amateur tournaments, weekly leagues, and serve as an instructional facility. I think the Ouschans have something like this in Austria, though much smaller than what I imagine for the US.

Since the question was asked, I think it would only exist due to the charity of a wealthy individual(s), and would need management from those with the best interests of the game in mind. But I do see a definite benefit from this if it ever came to light.

Absolutely

Absolutely,

Furthermore I don't think that getting it to support itself would be much of a problem if properly located and especially were it paid for the day the doors opened. These centers could do so many different things including functioning as tournament centers for everyones events and this way the schedule would be adhered to and not so many events walking on one another.

There would still be the events in the rooms but at least there would be a place where you don't have to rent lights, tables, pay for transportation and setup all the time and have adequate seating.

You would have room for vendors to set up and the whole she bang. People could rent the rooms out for parties, banquets etc and hotels would be glad to build close by something like this. So there would be walking distance accomodations.

I would be a multimillion dollar project no doubt but done right and from a nice lottery win it could surely happen and be a great thing.
