Sarah,

I saw you in the Carolinas this past weekend for the first time in over a year, and you looked different. Don't take this the wrong way, but you looked like you had lost some weight. Maybe it is just because you are getting older, or it may have been what you were wearing (you were dressed in all black).

But I was curious if you were consciously trying to alter you appearance over the past year for possible sponsorship opportunities. I know that sex sells in other sports (and I guess it does in pool as well). You looked great before, but you certainly have the look and physique now that any sponsor would love to have representing their company.

Sorry...I'm trying to be as non-chauvinistic sounding as possible. You know that I respect you and your game tremendously. Just curious.

Hi Mike,

I don't mind your question at all. To be honest I was not trying to lose weight, it just kind of happened. There are a couple reasons why it could have happened. One is because I have been using an Insulin Pump to control my diabetes rather than shots. This gives me more flexibility in what I eat and I don't have to eat if I don't want to. A year ago I had to eat about every 4 hours and my bloodsugars were all over the place. I am much healthier now. Another reason could be that I am happier in my life at this point in time. I had alot of stress in my personal life for a couple years and that is no longer there.

I agree with you that sex sells. I myself have never been considered a "sex symbol" so to say. I appreciate your kind words. Maybe that status is in my future. I am quite shy so that might be holding me back as well. I'm working on that. :)

I did notice when I watched you play this past weekend that you were wearing a device of some type clipped to your belt. I was curious what it was. In fact, a buddy that I was with said he thought that it was an insulin pump. I thought they may have you miked for some Sports Illustrated article or something :).

Yes, that was an Insulin Pump. Usually I wear jeans and keep it in my back pocket so it isn't so noticeable. You just caught me on a day that I was dressed nicer and didn't have any pockets. Most people ask if it is an MP3 player or a pager of some kind. I'm not miked for anything yet....maybe in the future!

Are you coming to Chicago for the big Viking tournament?
