You Make The Call: Pro One-Pocket

Here's a situation from an actual professional one-pocket game from a recent Derby City Classic. It is your shot; your pocket is the lower corner pocket, marked with the "A". What shot did the player take?

I'll post the answer tomorrow sometime...

How bout going totally offensive and hitting the 8 full enough to bank it into the 6/2/9 billiard going for my pocket, while the CB goes behind the 5 sending the 5 to the short rail and caroming off the stripe also going towards my pocket with the CB laying near the other guys pocket?

see......with shot selection like that,....I need 9/5 from EVERYONE!:D

Gerry, you're a one-pocket genius! Why didn't I think of that? ;)

I'm no 1-P expert, but this was the first (and best) shot that came to me. You get the 15 ball out of there, and most importantly you get the 5 ball out of his hole, stopping the rock infront of his hole.

Another possible shot is to hit the fifteen just a little harder, to leave the fifteen back in the cluster, and using the cue to knock the five up the long rail and away from opponent's pocket.

Five or six decent shots available here.

And if you bank the 15 into the 6, and hit the 5 full, you clear the pocket and run out.
