I'll give you examples of 2 pro players that play very fast and tell me when the last time did they win anything:

Vivian Virallel - 1992 WPBA title?
Luc Salvas - 2002 Canadian Champion?

Vivian does 2 warm up strokes before every shot, because she is stuborn and she tells everyone that she plays fast and thats it.
Luc hit the cue ball before it stops :D

There is no shortcuts in pool and this include 1 or 2 warm up strokes. I used to play fast as well and I did slowed down and I know it helps!

What ONE title isnt enought for you??? How many titles do you have under belt?? Just wondering?

One title it would be good for me, but I'm talking about champions, which ones struggling because of their stubbornes to the fast pase. I even heard ACCU-STATS comentators saying the same thing; that so you can trust in their judgements since I'm nobody.

I forgot the 1/2's. The 9-minus going up instead of the 7 going down is new to me but it's been years since I played there. They must have wanted to draw more strong players into the tourney.
Cory

Did he make the handicapping complicated enough or what?
That's a problem with all this 'LOCAL' type handicapping, it
starts affecting the REAL skill level, which is the Money skill
level, or a 2-12 9 ball skill rating, with pros being a 12. Too
much compromising with handicap levels for the lower skilled
players has been done just to get participation that they
OVERKILL it, and end up being unfair to the higher level players.
But, that is a thread all of it's own ...

well its a 3-9 system there, i do have to disagree a bit because at chris's, somebody who plays a 4 speed isnt all that great and shouldnt be able to beat like a 8 or a 9, but it is made to be fair and u get winners from both ends
