I’ve owned...Predator, Viking, Joss, Joss West, Olivier, Schon, Players, Cue Tech, Mike Betts, Josey, Frey, Huebler, Jensen, Shagrat, Petree, Gilbert, Verl Horn, S&S...I’m sure I’m forgetting some. I’ve owned a LOT of cues.
I regret selling my Huebler the most. Loved that cue and sold it at a discount to a very good player “friend” who needed a cue. He then flipped it for a profit...twice. He happened across it in a pawn shop about a year after he sold it the first time and bought it back for what I sold it to him for, then flipped it again for a profit. Then felt the need to tell me of his good fortune.
I regret purchasing my Jensen. Some will be shocked to hear that, as Mike has a reputation for building great playing cues. I just didn’t have a good experience and the cue I bought didn’t live up to the hype.
I’m hoping to own a Treadway sometime in 2021. Been on the list for a bit and Josh said he’s got the wood going now. Can’t wait.
I don’t really dislike any particular maker or brand. Nowadays I’ll rarely buy a cue I haven’t hit balls with no matter who made it. If I like it after I’ve played with it, I might buy it. Again, no matter who made it.
My main player since around ‘06 is my Verl Horn. That one is on the stay list and will never be sold.
