What is the price of these cues by the manufacture? For instance, low end is 500 and high end is 3000, with the average cue being 900.
This kind of info would be good for someone wanting to buy a new cue.

Zylr, capone, scruggs, southwest. I owed a lots of other cues but these are my favourite now.

Snookered <== hoping to strike lottery to get a Tad

Scruggs and Nitti.........both outstanding craftsmen.......and their cues play superbly (sp?) :p

Cue makers

Oops sorry almost forgot. I'd never forgive myself if I didnt mention Ernie's Cues. Gina cues are my favorite looking cues. I really respect the hell out of the guy and his cues. His designs have always been extremely unique and well thought out to me. You can always seem to spot a Gina when you see one. . .when you see one. . .

paul dayton, zylr, rick howard, dennis searing,southwest.....all great cues but i wouldreally say dayton makes a super sweet playing cue .....and i have only had one opportunity to play with a zylr and regret getting rid of it as it was a super sweet cue.......juston

have a dayton hustler that i wouldnt take a million dollars for .....just a great little cue..j

Viattorre. Not only do they make a great playing cue without breaking the bank, they are very easy to work with. An added bonus is Jackson isn't a self-centered egomaniac like many of the other cuemakers I dealt with.

Since you won't take a million dollars for that Dayton, I'll give you $200 and a Fast Larry DVD coupon for now. Gimme your address.
A friend of mine bought and sold a Howard cue. The same exact cue George Breedlove used on the first live broadcast of US Open ( against Hopkins). Oh what a suweet hitting cue that was. Unbelievable hit. Thin shaft, 4-point BEM around 20 oz. I wanted to buy it, he wouldn't sell it. It sold for premium dollars.
I have not shot with a Dayton or Searing. :(

There are so many good custom cue makers these days that it's hard to pick one. Many cue makers have features unique to their cues which makes it is nearly impossible for me to pick one. Here are my favorites:

Upper Echelon Makers
Bill Schick
Bill Stroud
Ernie Gutierrez
Tad Kohara
Paul Mottey
Mike Bender

Newer Makers
Mike Capone
Keith Josey
Andy Gilbert

Excellent Playability (not that the others do not have it, but these makers are especially known for it)
Southwest
Leonard Bludworth
Tim Scruggs
Joe Gold (Cognoscenti)

There are a couple of makers that I do not know anything about. One is Ed Prewitt. I have seen pics of his cues and they look very nice, but $2K for a relatively plain cue seems out of line to me. The other cue is Zylr. Again, I have seen some pics of these cues and they do not look like anything special to me. I hear they play jam up. Can anyone fill me in on these cues?

i think ed prewitts prices are way out of line.....and as stated earlier i have only had a chance to own one zylr and it was a out of this world cue.......people over look guys like dayton and rick howard.......anyone that knows rick knows hes a helluva player and i promise there arent many cuemakers that want to play him.....he plays jam up.....keith is a great guy but he has developed a big head due to the fact the asian market gobbles his cues up.......his cues are gorgeous but i dont think they have alot of playability to them.........i think thats the most important thing in a cue.......and a question....Whats the deal with tascarella.......i dont see anything that makes his cues so special that they can command that kind of price....so what he has equipment that balabushka used to own......i think it is a crying shame.......i can understand making money but no need in being greedy and making it where everyday people cant afford or get a cue.....and yes ill put southwest in that same group.....great cues but please.....8 years.....thats crazy and people that do have them want an outrageous price for them......im gonna stick with the guys like dayton and zylr......juston

My wife and I both love our Scruggs cues. Thanks Mike and Tim!!! Now if I could only play as well as the cues do.

Who's your favorite custom cue maker, whym and how does it shoot?

Mike Lambros...best playing cue I have ever played with. I will never play with another cue...so good.

I do like the look of Troy Downeys cues in the new Muellers products catalog. Anyone hit with one of his cues. I like the elliptical diamonds.

I love my Dave Jacoby cue! What about Bobby Hunter and Robinson cues? I didn't hear anyone mention them. Bobby Hunter puts a nice finish on a cue!

I have never had the opportunity to play with the cues that I drewl over. So going on the basis of looks, Tad is one of my favorites. Paul Drexler, Samsara and Kikel make some amazing pieces of art.

What about the Rhino cue, it's big, it's black, it's dumb and it's ugly.

What about a Richard Black or are they not worthy? It would be a shame since I have one in my collection.

I like the way the cues of Capone and Dayton plays. The finish of the Dayton was not up to what I expected though. For finishing, the best finish I have seen are the cues from Viattorre. Can't wait to receive mine.

I have been using a Southwest and like the hit of it but there is so much deflection when using English! It would be a sin to put a Predator shaft on one but I sure don't miss as many shots spinning the ball with my Predator 2.

Noone has said McWorter yet?

While I Love my Bludworth and wont stop playing with it, I really like McWorter and Dave Jones for their styles. Like I posted some time ago, keep an eye out for Dave in the next Blue Book, once he starts making cues full time the world will get to know his name quickly. I also really like Bender.

Look up some of the Connoisseur collection cues made by Blud using the search function. WOW!

How many cuemakers in the good ol' USA?
Too many good cue makers to talk about..
I have hit balls with probably 200 different named cues and lots of them hit the balls great!!!
My personal 2 Kersenbrocks still play great after 25 years...

just to rewind a little

Something was mentioned in this thread that was interesting to me. I have had an Eddie Prewitt cue in the past. Actually it was the first "custom" cue I ever owned. It was a four pointer with like three veneers, nothing fancy. I bought it from a local roadie for like $500. I know this is not relavent to the high prices that he seems to demand as it was a used cue but I remember trying to get ahold of him to get my shafts turned down as well as to get another one made. Man, could never track the guy down. Even went to his local pool room to find him. Gave up after several months and had another cuemaker turn the shafts down and sold the cue before ever getting another shaft made. I hope he's become more available in recent years. I did know a few local pro's that did use his cues around here. I can't speak for all of the cues he's ever made as I can only speak for the one I owned and to me, the hit was whatever. The Padgett that I owned afterwards hit much nicer.
