Don't forget Cognoscenti when you're talking about "out of line pricing".
He gets 1800.00 for a plain ebony cue with 2 shafts....they don't hit that good.

I guess it would only be out of line pricing if players were not willing to pay the price! Joey gets high $$ for his cues..
As far as they not hitting good, that is all a matter of preference. I love the hit of my Cog.., others may not. If we all like the same cue, it would be kind of boring..

Joe...Loves his Cog and feels pretty good about what he paid for his :D

Andy Gilbert & Mike Webb.

I have to agree with those people that said Bob Dzuricky is a great cue maker. He's also a great guy to aid in the design of your cue. He gets you what you want or as close to it without hurting the playability of the cue.

DZ Cues, DYNAMITE!!

I love the green & pink. Johnny Ross once stated it as Cash & Gash. To me a cuemaker is like having a realtionship with your mechanic or maybe your doctor. If you find one you like & develop an ongoing dialogue as to your preferences & style, to me thats where its at. The heart & personal touch is important to me as opposed to buying something where you're just another score.

I just bought my first one, a richard black. Paid $1500, it was used, but it cost a lot more than that new. It is a beautiful cue. Maybe some day i can save up and get a brand spankin new one. I guess a cue like this is driving used cars all your life and you finally buy a cadalliac, even it the caddy is used, the event is still pretty special to you.

Yes, it is worth it.

Well, considering that Pete Tascarella spent several years making cues with Gus Szamboti, currently helps Barry Szamboti catch up, and owns all of George Balabushka's blueprints and machines should initially key somebody in to the fact that he knows what he is doing. Until you own one, you will never know the benefit of shooting with something with such master craftsmanship.
Next time you joint your cue together, just tighten it with your fingertips, then tighten by hand. You will notice that you need to crank it down. When I tighten my Tascarella down with my finger tips, that is as far as it goes.
Next time you lay your cue down in your hands, notice how you need to adjust your grip to make it ballanced and comfortable. Lay a Tascarella down in your hands and it doesn't matter where you grip it, it is perfectly ballanced throughout the butt.
Next time you put hard english on a bank to make it continue turning that 5th rail, notice how much effort you needed to put into the shot. Tascarella's cues make extreme cue/object ball work nearly effortless.
Next time you are admiring your cue, notice the rounded points and nice machine driven inlay work. Look at a Tascarella and you will see woderfully spliced, slightly uneven points that scream out "This was done by hand and man is only so perfect, so this is as perfect as it will come".
To close, I do love shooting with my Tascarella and will never own another maker's stick through my days. You will never know the true beauty of these until you first touch the tip to the cueball. It took me a bit of work and dedication to save the $2900.00 it cost me for mine, but was well worth the dedication.

....Whats the deal with tascarella.......i dont see anything that makes his cues so special that they can command that kind of price....so what he has equipment that balabushka used to own......i think it is a crying shame.......i can understand making money but no need in being greedy and making it where everyday people cant afford or get a cue...

I DON'T LIKE TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN ON OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS BUT PETES' CUES ARE SOME OF IF NOT THE BEST PLAYING STAINLESS JOINTED CUES ON THE PLANET. HIS WORK IS TOP NOTCH. HE HAS EARNED HIS REPUTATION. I HAVE OWNED AND DO OWN SEVERAL OF PETES' CUES AND THEY HAVE ALL PLAYED GREAT AND HIS WORK IS FLAWLESS. HIS LEATHER AND LINEN WRAPS ARE ABOVE ANYTHING I HAVE SEEN FROM ANYONE ELSE. IT SUCKS TO WAIT AND TO PAY TOP DOLLAR, IT'S LIKE ORDERING A FERRARI INSTEAD OF A CHEVY. DO YOU OR HAVE YOU OWNED A TASCARELLA?

Thanks,
Zim
