My first WPBA match was against Megan Smith (now Minerich) in Chicago, IL. So I was playing in front of my home crowd. I lost the match 9-8, she made the nine on the break. I later found out that isn't supposed to happen ever with the sardo rack, but it did.
I won my second match 9-3. Then the nerves kicked in. I was set to play a night match against Nesli O'hare. I walked in and realized all the big names play at 7pm. I drank a bottle of Pepto-Bismal but my nerves still weren't calmed. I was losing the match 6-1, then 8-6, then I ended up losing 9-8.
Losing those matches 9-8 it gave me confidence to play on tour because I knew I could come close to beating some players and I could eventually win. The nerves still happen and I still drink Pepto like water, but I wouldn't trade playing for anything in the world.
